Will he propose?

When will he propose? How long must I wait for my bf to propose?
My boyfriend and I have been dating over a year and I know he is the one for me, but he never brings up the future! Whenever I drop hints he always says he is “not sure what he wants”.
Should I move on? or look for someone else?


My answer:

It is unfortunately impossible to "get" a man to propose (unless you hold a gun to his head!) Do you really want to be with someone you need to convince to marry you?

A man in love will leap from tall buildings, will cross continents, start and end wars and will without being prompted, ask you to marry him. This happens when he thinks you are very special and he "must, must" have you. For some men it can take some time, but he will be open to discuss it with you and will let you know that you are in his future plans.

You need to have the "talk" (be very calm and collected) and tell him that your plans for yourself include marriage. It seems now that he doesn't want marriage or that he doesn't want to marry you. If that's true you need to move on. When you are having this conversation with him you must be firm and be prepared to walk away (however difficult it may be) otherwise you will look weak and loose his respect.
