Want a baby

We are married for a year and have a 15 month old baby. I am ready for another baby and can't wait to become pregnant again. My husband want us to wait and let it happen the natural way. I want to start tracking my temp and focus on ovulation times to make a baby.

Should I do this without telling him? I really have baby fever and don't want to wait.


My answer:

It would be wrong to trick you husband into trying to become pregnant. Lying and misleading someone you love is never a good thing. You run the risk of damaging the trust between you and once that is broken it is very difficult to get back.

How would you feel if he was lying to you about something as important as creating a new life?

Talk to him about your wish and see if you can reach a compromise that you are both comfortable with.

You also need to think about why you want a new baby when you already have a (older) baby to care for? What are you missing or needing that this baby is not fulfilling for you? Be very honest with yourself and see if you can get to the real reason you want a baby now.
