- Constellation mythology about Leo -
The Leo mythology is about the legend of Parzival and how he set out on a personal quest to learn about life and how he fits into that life.
The constellation mythology about Leo tells us about the self imposed quest of a Leo (Parzival) in his search for a father figure and his own worth. He leaves what is comfortable and safe and rides into danger, adventure and a new future. A classical Leo story of wanting to be something bigger, better and greater.

Leo mythology
Parzival’s mother, fearing that he would someday leave her, brought him up in a wood where she isolated him from life and kept him naïve and innocent. One day a troop of knights ride through the wood and runs into Parzival and talks to him.
Their nobility and chivalry fire his imagination and he decides to go out into the world and also become a knight. His mother, who is devastated, dies from a broken heart as he leaves. He has many adventures as he travels along.
One day Parzival has a vision of a sick old king and a young maiden who brings him a sword and a cup. (the holy grail) Parzival, who is overwhelmed, remains silent and the vision slips away. A great and angry voice reprimands him for not asking the magic question and failing to restore the old king and winning the maiden as his wife.
He realizes his ignorance and resolves to find the Grail one day. Twenty years pass before he finds the old king again. During this time he matured, learned a lot and became a true hero.
This time, he asked the magic question and learned that the old him is his father and Parzival becomes the new King and keeper of the Holy Grail.
The symbolism and meaning of the Leo mythology:
In a typical Leo fashion Parzival grows up without a father. It is interesting to note how many Leo persons in real life have some kind of issue with their father figure. Either in the form of a problematic relationship or the total or partial absence of the father.
His life is safe, protected and innocent, but there is always something calling on him to rebel against authority and to break the mold. Notice how something important to him (his mother) must die so that he can break away?
The lions’ quest is a quest of the self, a very personal need to find his true identity and meaning. A deep and profound focus on the self.
The emotionally immature Leo run the risk of being so self centered and focused on attracting an audience that he will become insufferable.
The lesson Leo needs to learn is that this is not a focus on “me, me, me” but rather a seeking of the true source behind the self. Leo is constantly aware of himself – like a watcher watching himself while watching. He is not aware of his environment except in relation to himself. This can make a Leo seem self involved and arrogant.
He must realize that what is inside him is not just “clever me”, but his true source. Only then will he be true to the Vision of the Grail and become the light of what he is and not just a reflection of what he does.
