Examples of Bad online dating profiles

On this page you'll find examples of bad online dating profiles to assist you in staying away from creating the usual, boring, ordinary profile.

I have compiled a list of examples of bad online dating profiles to assist you in staying away from creating the usual, boring, run of the mill profile.

Creating a great profile can be easy and fun, but you need to know what to steer clear of.

Avoid the following:

  1. Avoid using lists that sound the same as the next boring list,
  2. Avoid the obvious: “I need you to support and heal me while I sponge off you”,
  3. Avoid the “I don’t care who you are as long as I can have you right now!”,
  4. Avoid the people who can’t even make the effort to write a profile,
  5. Do a spell-check before you post your new profile!

1. Avoid compiling a list for your profile that sounds boring and repetitive

Read through the following examples of bad online dating profiles lists and you will quickly see why it is so easy to disappear in the crowd of no-imagination profiles that all sound the same:

i just need someone that is honest, loving, caring, one man woman, and a warm person, social and homely. Honestly and warm are imortant to me

Relaxed, uncomplicated, easy going, independent, not tied down to any commitments currently, active, fun, creative, not perfect, loyal, enjoy life,
caring, ......

honest, genuine, reliable and down to earth, outgoing and have a great sense of humor, no baggage, love to cook and entertain, love animals and outdoors, enjoy my rugby, cricket and my motorbike,...

Funny, outgoing person, great sense of humour, positive outlook on life, love people, sport, animals and enjoy life, outdoors and having fun with my friends, good movie and great company,...

Although lists can be put to great use to pull potential partners in (see examples of great lists), be very careful not to use the same boring terms to describe yourself that everyone else are using.

If you put boring information out there – that is exactly what you will attract: boring people, boring dates and a boring life!

2. Avoid writing a profile that suggest: “I need you to support and heal me while I sponge off you”

i have been in a relasinsip for 22 years and whent to work abroad and was used and droped by my patner i just feel that there is some one who will be fair in a relasinship and aprecate the love and kindnes a person can offer ands not only be a one sided relasinship as has been for 22 years ;

she must be self dependent finacely as i have lost a lot and also out going and frendley and a home maker as i love doing things at home and always have self asteam and have time on hand for me aswell

This is a classical example of a bad online dating profile.
Keep in mind that you will only attract someone that is emotionally healthy, balanced and valuable to your life if you portray those qualities yourself.

3. Avoid writing a profile that focus on only one thing: “I don’t care who you are as long as I can have you right now!”

Sensuous and sexually passionate, I am an experienced lover looking for a woman to share special experiences or that special sexual soulmate

Sensuous woman who wants to explore her sexuality in various ways. Type, build, looks unimportant, but that inner passion and wantonness is.

I am a lonely guy longing to meet and pleasure lovely ladies. I have got an enormous sexual drive and think about "it" all day long!!! I know how to please a woman and invite all lonely...

Using these lines from bad online dating profiles will lead to plenty of one-night-stands, but a qaulity, long-term connection needs a stronger start.

4. Don't be lazy, make the effort and write a great profile:

This should be at least 20 words long. Maximum length is about 500 words (2000 characters). Remember that you may not include any contact details in your profile. If you do, the contact information...

This person is not worth your time. Can you imagine how little energy this person will spend on you or your relationship if writing a profile is just too much to do?

5. Do a spell-check before you post your new profile!
