Anniversary year gifts

Giving or receiving anniversary year gifts is a very special celebration of the timeline of your love and can be seen as an introduction to another year of commitment and togetherness.

Celebrating wedding anniversaries dates back to medieval central Europe where couples married for 25 years received a wreath of silver and on the 50th anniversary, a wreath of gold. We still refer to “silver weddings” and “golden weddings” today. Being the romantics we are these customs were elaborated on and today basically every anniversary are marked with a different symbol and gift.

Most of us today don’t keep religiously to the “rules” of yearly anniversary gifts but rather to give gifts that are appropriate for the couple but to carry the theme in the wrapping of these anniversary year gifts in the relevant wrapping. For the eight anniversary the gift can be wrapped in copper colored paper, decorated with lilac flower.
